First we welcomed 35 Freshmen Fellows to campus this fall and they are excited for their upcoming Freshmen Experience. We are also excited about our new partnerships/collaborative efforts for service; we have 8 service sites/programs that we are partnering with to provide continuous and immersive experiences for our Fellow's to supplement their Educator Preparation. These sites/partnerships include: The Anne Frank House Traveling Exhibit/USC Center for Educational Partnerships Rural Schools Initiative, The Salvation Army Leveraging Literacy Program, The Communities in Schools of the Midlands, The Humanities at Fulmer Program, Palmetto Place Children's Home, Cocky's Reading Express, USC College of Educator Praxis Peer Tutors, and the CarolinaLife Program.
Our first program for professional development included Dr. Regina Wragg, Director of the USC College of Education's Office of Assessment. She was an excellent speaker and provided an interactive discussion based presentation that incorporated real time data/feedback from the audience with their cell phones.
