Graduation Rates – SC Institutions, Teaching Fellows Institutions (TFIs), and Teaching Fellows Program
The table below compares graduation rates of public/independent four-year institutions in SC with approved educator preparation programs, Teaching Fellows Institutions (TFIs), and the Teaching Fellows Program.
The first row of data are graduation rates for all SC institutions with approved educator preparation programs and the second row includes graduation rates of colleges and universities approved as TFIs. Graduation rates in these two rows apply to the entire institution.
The last row of data are graduation rates for all Teaching Fellows awarded a fellowship in 2014. It is important to note that most Teaching Fellows graduate with a Bachelor’s degree within four years. Five- and six-year graduation rates were calculated for comparison purposes.

Data from the 2000-2017 Cohorts (February 2022)
- A total of 3,149 Teaching Fellows awards and 2,478 Fellows graduates results in a 78.7% graduation rate.
- 68.4% of graduates (1,696 Fellows) are currently employed in 72 of 79 SC public school districts, as well as the SC Department of Juvenile Justice.
- 93.3% of graduates (2,312 Fellows) have either satisfied their loan or are currently teaching for loan forgiveness in a SC public school. A breakdown of these Fellows graduates is below:
