Adopt a Family This year, CCU Teaching Fellows Adopted a family from Ocean Drive Elementary School in Myrtle Beach. This has been the second year of adopting a family in the Conway area. We were given a Second and Fourth grade student from the family. The focus for gifts this year was on the things children need. The children come from a very low-income family and getting things such as clothes and shoes are necessary. We did get a few toys the kids were asking for so we can make their Christmas something they can look forward to. These gifts will be great memory makers for the family in a time of need. As Christmas can be very stressful for parents, helping them in a way that is so small to us, is so important to them. We will continue to keep adopting families in order to make their Christmas a little brighter.
