Dr. Mary Ann Hartshorn, Campus Director at College of Charleston sent us this wonderful news for former teaching fellow, Miss Manuela Chaverra. Miss Chaverra was named the Special Education Teacher of the Month for Oakbrook Middle school in Dorchester 2. Miss Chaverra was described as follows: “…(she) has taken charge of her position like an experienced professional. While her class is small, her students are each extremely unique. She responds to their specialized needs with skill, care and flexibility. She is proactive in getting any training that she may need to be successful in her job. Manuela has developed great relationships with students, parents and staff. What a great addition to our Special Education department!”
