BY KAREN PACK ProTeam Instructor, Patrick Newsome recently took 12 students on a field trip to Jefferson Elementary School. This is a perfect segue from ProTeam to Teacher Cadet. A few years ago, these students were across the street in Palmetto Middle School's ProTeam class. Now, they are a part of a larger group of Teacher Cadets at Palmetto High! Anderson 1 is truly "Growing their own!"
BY KAREN PACK ProTeam Instructor Patrick Newsome's students were learning how to be effective listeners in the lesson, "Listen Up!" Using the three reasons for listening: to retain, to understand, and to establish trust and confidence, students wrote and performed short skits on the importance of being an effective listener.

My class collaborated on the Career Boardwalk activity by coming to consensus about the most important qualities to look for with careers. We placed the most important qualities on the top row, the next important on the middle row, and the qualities they considered least important on the bottom row. Since my floor has checkerboard tile, it made a great foundation for the activity.
The ProTeam class at Williston-Elko Middle School is led by Ms. Betsy Portune. Portune was the district's teacher of the year.
The class will be featured in an upcoming promotional video for the ProTeam Program.
