Points to Remember While at Teacher Expo
- Most of South Carolina's 85 school districts and representatives from a number of educational organizations will be in attendance. Give yourself time to meet with all the districts that you are interested in and ask for information. After learning about the opportunities in each district, schedule interviews with those that are the best fit for you.
- A few districts will not be interviewing or they may not be interviewing for your discipline. However, that does not mean that there are no opportunities available for you. All participating districts will have applications and information available.
- Interviews will be in progress all day on June 1. Be considerate as you approach the interview booths.
- Be sure to be on time for each scheduled interview. If you are late, you will affect the interview time for other applicants scheduled after you and with other recruiters.
- Representatives from the South Carolina Department of Education will be at Expo to answer your certification questions. They will have access to records already on file.
- A copier will be available on site for your use.
- Only registered applicants are allowed in the exhibits area. Spouses, non-registered guests, and children are not allowed to accompany you in the exhibit area.

Appropriate Dress for an Interview
Regardless of what might be appropriate attire for the job which you are seeking, go to an interview dressed conservatively. You will never be faulted if your dress is somewhat more formal than that of the person interviewing you. You will, however, find yourself out of place if you are not dressed at least to the interviewer’s standards. Even though South Carolina weather can be very hot and humid in the summer time, men should wear coats and ties.
