 2010 "Virtual" South Carolina Teacher Expo

  • Time: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 

 

Because of budget restraints and decreased number of job openings, we are restructuring the event.  Our hope is that the new format will better serve both your needs and the needs of our South Carolina school districts.  This year, Teacher Expo will be a “live” virtual event, held on June 9 and will give you the opportunity to hear presentations from participating districts and ask questions.   Each participating district will be given an hour time slot in which to do a 10-15 minute presentation about their district and entertain typed questions from the candidates.  We will email all registered candidates with each district’s assigned time.  If necessary, the virtual event will be continued on June 10. 
 

The virtual event is limited to South Carolina residents and recent graduates of South Carolina colleges who are certified or who have PACE letters of eligibility as well as out of state teachers who are certified in the following areas:  math, science, foreign language, special education.
 

Districts will post their vacancies on the SCASA and CERRA websites beginning May 15 and this list will be updated until the virtual Expo.  We strongly encourage you to check these websites prior to attending the virtual Expo to see if any districts are hiring in your certification area.  Please note that districts will be interviewing primarily for critical needs.
 

What if I registered for the June 7th in-person event?

If you previuosly registered and paid to attend the June 7th event, you will receive a refund of your registration fee. Your contact information will be sent to the districts in South Carolina so that they may contact you if they have a job opening in your certification area. If you choose to participate in the June 9th virtual event, we ask that you re-register by clicking here. The virtual Expo is free.
