CERRA Launches "Teach South Carolina" Brochure
ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA), in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, has launched its newest teacher recruitment brochure through the state’s nine Welcome Centers.
In an effort to continue fulfilling its mission, CERRA has sought new avenues to reach out-of-state citizens and connect them to valuable information pertinent to becoming an educator in one of South Carolina’s 85 school districts. With more than 13 million visitors pouring into the state each year, the Center received permission from SCPRT to place its newly-designed “Teach South Carolina” brochure in the State’s Welcome Centers. The nine Welcome Centers are located at entry points to South Carolina along Interstate-85 in Fair Play and Blacksburg, Interstate-26 in Landrum, Interstate-20 in North Augusta, Interstate-95 in Dillon, Santee, and Hardeeville, Interstate-77 in Fort Mill, and U.S. Highway 17 in Little River.
“It is our aim to use our partnership with SCPRT as a beacon to attract and identify accomplished educators and other persons with a passion for teaching from around the United States to return to South Carolina after their vacations and put a smile on the face of the Palmetto State’s future,” said CERRA Public Information Coordinator Mychal Frost.
The brochure highlights education and curriculum quality, professional development opportunities for educators, information about CERRA’s statewide job application, alternative pathways to teaching, and the economic impact educators can expect to find in South Carolina.
Since its launch July 2, initial feedback from the campaign has exceeded expectations with reply cards being received from as far away as northern California and upstate New York.
With the tagline “Make A Difference Every Day” emblazoned on the brochure, the call to educators is straight forward and invites educators from near and far to consider a life-changing relocating to South Carolina to teach. The children of South Carolina, your future, are waiting for you.
