Columbia, South CarolinaThe South Carolina Expo for Teacher Recruitment focuses on meeting South Carolina's short-term recruitment needs. The 20th annual job fair will be held in Columbia, South Carolina, June 2, 2008. The Expo is co-sponsored by CERRA, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators - Personnel Division (SCASA), the State Department of Education's Division of Educator Quality and Leadership and the State Department of Education's Office of Teacher Certification.
CERRA assumed responsibility for all state and national publicity, including media contacts and the answering of mail and telephone inquiries. During the Expo, CERRA staff members sponsor an on-site booth where teachers are encouraged to submit an application through the South Carolina Teacher Application System, a statewide online job application accessible by all 85 school districts in the state. Staff members provide general staff support for the recruitment fair and publish the Expo Teacher Vacancy list.
Sixty-nine South Carolina school districts took part in the 2007 Expo, with more than 1,300 teachers from 39 states who registered online. Nearly half of the registrants were from out-of-state. Click here to view the 2008 Expo for Teacher Recruitment brochure in PDF format.
