Organization

The Advisory Board shall be composed of representation from the following groups of the CERRA network: Current/Former Pre-Collegiate and Pre-Service program participants (e.g. current/former or retired teacher cadet instructors, etc), ProTeam instructors, Teacher Cadet instructors, College Partners, District Teachers of the Year, the serving State Teacher of the Year, serving or former Induction Mentors, and National Board Certified Teachers®.

The serving State Teacher of the Year (STOY) will serve as the Chairperson of the CERRA Advisory Board for a period of one year beginning July 1. The Chairperson, under the guidance of the CERRA Executive Director, will be responsible for scheduling and directing CAB meetings. CERRA Program Directors and Teachers in Residence (TIR’s) will provide support to the CAB Chairperson and CAB members as requested or required.

CAB members will be organized into committees that support the purpose of the CERRA Advisory Board and that support the accomplishment of the CERRA mission. These committees could include, but are not limited to, the following committees: Professional Development, Outreach and Advocacy, Special Projects and Innovation, and Governance and Membership. Committee titles and functions will be designated by the CAB Chairperson with input from the CERRA Executive Director, CERRA Program Directors, CERRA TIR’s and CAB members. Committees will be formed during the first CAB meeting of the year. CAB members will be able to volunteer for committees based on their interests and expertise. The CAB Chairperson will be responsible for making final committee assignments for CAB members.   Committee members will select a Chairperson to represent and lead their committee at the first meeting of the year. Committee chairs will serve for one year.
