Weather dictates the order of events. The afternoon forecast of rain means I need to get the leaves off the yard and driveway. I love the tall oaks that are the vast majority of our property. But in the fall when they discard their foliage, they create work. So I strap on my leave blower knowing that dry leaves are moved easier than wet ones. Yard work and small jobs take the majority of the day and I am bushed.
Swim team, Lego league and the fall carnival make up the children’s schedule. The Lego team has selected the name The Oompa-Loompas. I am sure the coaches will enjoy dressing the part. The fall carnival is time for the children to have fun and see their teachers in a different light. It is fun to watch how different students approach their teachers at such events. Fundraiser baskets are bid on, cake-walks, and games are the order of the day.
As evening falls the adults are tired while the children are raring to go. Youth really is wasted on the young.
