Just another Saturday morning of catching up on emails, paper work, and blogging in order to be ready to be out of town six days in a row.  If you think I have some off the wall thoughts from reading my blog, you ought to read my mind when I am tired of blogging…  Now that would be a crazy stream of conscious experience.  So I find that if I jot some ideas down during the week and finish up the work on the weekend, it almost begins to make sense.

The day is just a typical weekend even though the kids are still excited about the long break.  The weather is nice and they are in and out.  They slam one door of the house so hard the windows shake… and they leave the other door ajar.  So I have to explain to them the concept of balance and consistency.  “Shut one door with a little less force and the other with a little more force or I will apply a special parental force,” I am not sure that they completely grasp the lecture but they get the point.  As they leave, one child asks, “Can we pull down a tree?” ….“Sure!” I reply quickly, thinking…how can this go wrong?… and they just may burn up some energy.  One of them must have found some kryptonite because my parenting powers did not detect that this was waaaaay too easy.   But I have work to do and I move on.

Tune in next blog….if a tree falls in the woods, is it the parent’s fault?…what major catastrophe lies ahead for our disarmed parental hero?… find out tomorrow…same blogging nut…same nutty blogger.
