Today I spend the morning reading Out Of Our Minds by Ken Robinson. It was a book that Mike Giessen, 2009 National Teacher of the Year (click to see his blog), recommended to me. It is an interesting book with some unique perspectives. Next, I go to the pool store to have the water checked and to buy some belts for our Polaris pool sweeper. I return home and spend the afternoon taking the sweeper apart. I completely take apart the sweeper and notice the wheel has a broken axle. So I get my CA glue (super glue’s real name) and repair the wheel. I will have to wait for the wheel to harden before I put everything together again. Next I put together a pressure washer. You are thinking Mr. Fixit aren’t you? The roaring sound of the engine and pressurized water is soon heard. Things are going well. However it is hard to start suddenly. My wife is frustrated…but at least this time it is not at something I have done. The reason for the new purchase was that she wanted a pressure washer she could easily start. Being mechanically inclined (not really) she deduces that the oil is low and that must be the source of the problem. It is late in the day so we decide grilling hamburgers will make all the aggravations of the day go away. So let there be smoke.
